upsc civil service exam 2012 forms are out

upsc civils or upsc pt forms are out. Last date to apply is 5 march 2012.

The only way to apply is online. So don’t think of visiting the upsc forms and upsc will not be accepting offline forms at its windows like earlier.

Be careful while filling the online upsc forms. It has so happened in the past that upsc has rejected online forms for minor issues like inadequate photo size etc.

So have someone who knows things online if you are not comfortable with online applications and internet life.

All the best to all upsc aspirants.

Candidates who could not clear the UPSC Civil Services Mains (written) 2010 exam for which results were declared on 3 March 2011 have been wondering when the commission will release their marks.

The UPSC made it clear in the result notification about the marks of those who have not cleared the cut-off for the personality test—

The mark-sheets of candidates who have not qualified, will be put on the Commission’s Website within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result (after conducting
Personality Test) and will remain available on the Website for a period of 60 days..

So keep waiting; your marks will be published after 15 days of the final results (i.e. after the results of the personality test for CSE 2010).

The government recently declared Ambedkar Jayanti (14 April) as a gazetted holiday. The UPSC had announced its Personality test (Interview) schedule before this notification.

The UPSC has clarified through a notification taken out recently that the civil services interviews will happen on 14 April 2011 as scheduled. All the best to the candidates.

You can see the PDF file of the notification by UPSC on the link at the UPSC website.

UPSC has just released the Examination schedule for the year 2010. If you are still wondering when the UPSC CS (Main) exam will start, the answer is 29 October 2010 and will last for 21 days. Of course, this is subject to change as written in the disclaimer (which is very rare). See the snapshot below saved from the UPSC website few moments ago.

It also has the dates for other UPSC exams such as the CDS, NDA, IES, Geologists’ exam, Central Police Forces Exam, Indian Forest services etc.

Please see this post on the same issue on this blog before reading this. On the same forum a new elaborate comment on this matter by a forum member:

It is true that the government does many things on the gender front without following it whole-heartedly (such as the gender budgeting by Chidambaram). Still in my opinion, this has a lot more than what meets the eye.

1. It is a clear policy statement by the UPSC/government. It has no tangible benefits except the 50 Rupees for the womenfolk but it will have ramifications. They may extend it to all other UPSC exams (ideally they should) including the Civil Services Main examination. Maybe someday the reservation for women in the parliament will also become a reality.

Some students and aspirants are saying that the result of the UPSC Civil Services Main Examination 2009 will come in the first week of February, 2010. A few said that this news was given by the UPSC enquiry counter (facilitation counter).

Well, the news is not confirmed but be prepared for the Main exam result before the usual mid-March or late March announcement. It will only help shortening the exam period and process if the results come early. Please prepare for the upcoming interviews.

All the best to all UPSC aspirants.

In the recently notified UPSC Civil Services Examination (also called the IAS Exam/examination by many), the Union Public Service Commission has decided to give fee exemption to females along with the SCs, STs and the PH category. This is a welcome step and probably will be admitted in the UPSC examination system and be applied to all the exams conducted by the commission.

Please note that this fee is the remission on the 50 Rupees fee to be paid after buying the application form. Women and everyone else (including the SC, ST, PH category candidates) have to buy the UPSC forms in 20 Rupees and there is no fee rebate on that.
